Welcome!

Let’s start with a little housekeeping, as a few things are going to appear different around here. The whole site/newsletter has undergone a facelift, of sorts.

After plugging along a little rudderless at the Substack for the last 18-ish months, it felt like time to step things up a bit. So, a few changes were made.

First, and likely most importantly, nothing changes for my subscribers. This is still free and you will still receive notifications in your inbox when new posts are published.

Structurally, some things are different. The domain changed, slightly. If you want to bookmark it then use this one: https://tobenamedlater.beehiiv.com/. I’ve migrated the newsletter from Substack to Beehiiv for a variety of reasons. The latter offers more customization to the site’s appearance and a lot more tools that should help grow this thing, especially if I hope to someday earn some extra income through it (i.e. paid subscriptions — don’t worry, I won’t spring this on you out of nowhere when the time comes).

There are other smaller changes, some of which you won’t ever notice. There are plenty of things I have yet to figure out about the new setup, too.

The archives from Substack were not brought over, at least not in full. Some of that content I will repurpose again in the future here, when appropriate and likely with updates made.

The goal isn’t just to recreate what I was doing there. It’s time to put more effort into this, maybe more consistency. I’m not sure what that means exactly. It might mean more frequent posts. It might mean shorter ones. It might mean some hybrid mix of factors I haven’t even considered yet. Most things will land in your inbox, but there might be a short post or two that only gets published to the site (i.e. I’ll spare your inbox of multiple emails a day if it comes to it).

The point is I’m going to do this better.
